Hard to get intimate with Sawara, the orange kitten.
But little by little we are getting closer, day by day:)
Sawara, male kitten and sibling of Urume, is very timid, which character is shown on his looks, see?
He wouldn't make me come closer nor touch him,
but now at last after adopting him 2 weeks ago, I can pat and stroke him:)
Please check out my instagram page from the link above. Thank you.

I may have said before, though I love each season but I love autumn the best in a year. I assume it is because I was born in autumn and the gene has a lot to do it. Now it is November, I crave for the color red, yellow, brown. I deadly want to eat root vegetables. I miss the way I used to cling to my blanket, to cuddle in it with my cats.
I went to my favorite bistro in Cebu City and I couldn't resist the temptation of tart tatin there, and bought two pieces to my room.
I also bought persimmon, to taste autumn like my mother loved.

Going Organic
I have been living in Cebu, the Philippines, for about one and half year now, come to prefer/choose organic products almost always. You can get organic products made in the Philippines easily and at a reasonable price (some of them are extremely expensive for me, though). You can find so many things labeled with "100% natural origin", or "organic" here, a place full of tropical fruits and plants beneficial for your health like papaya, moringa, and coconut. I don't use many cosmetics (usually I apply only bee wax lotion that I made) but I am a soap lover, so I always go out of an organic store with some pieces of soap. In the photo are my favorite soaps and other products.
I only wish I could get shampoo bar like this.
セブでもオーガニックの商品を買えるお店が増えて、休日に街へ出るとほぼ必ずそういうお店を覗きます。石けんラバーのわたしはストックがあっても行くたびに買ってしまう。普通の石けんに比べたら少し高いけれど、日本のものに比べたらとても安い!パパイヤ石けんはどこでも豊富な種類が見つかりますが、スーパーで売ってるものは香料や着色料が入っているものがほとんど。モールなどに入っているスーパーや専門店でオーガニックのものが買えます。わたしは小さなショップで満足なものを見つけてそれをリピート中。他にはヤギミルク石けん、お隣のネグロス島で作っているものを使ってみましたが、これもよかった。使う前にカビが出てしまいその部分は捨てましたが^^;

What I do every day: Stop alarm @0430H. Mostly I get up, depending on my working shift; Grind coffee beans and make coffee for myself. Now I live alone, but I always make one additional cup of coffee as I did in Japan when I lived with my parents. At first, it seemed easier to make coffee better for 3 or 4 person than for only myself or two. After my mother died, making and offering coffee for her came to be kind of my everyday ritual. That's the way I think of her every day; I remember her loving using Hario's siphon when I was a kid. It was a scientific miracle.
Anyway, I love coffee, especially coffee given by my friends in Japan. Brewing coffee is not a productive or helpful for organizing life, but it always makes me smile and helps me a lot to keep me calm and happy:))

K for ...
K is for kitten, koneko in Japanese. Such a wonderful, irresistibly cute being. Sometimes it is too adorable and it makes me somehow want to cry, almost sad.
The things starting with K that I can instantly remember: Kale; I try to eat as often as possible these days, Kaleidoscope; I really loved when I was a kid, Kangaroo; funny & mysterious animal I have only seen in zoos, Ketchup; I don't use nowadays, Kenya; I wanna visit in my lifetime, Key; I used to forget where I had put but I am always careful with and never forget now, Kinfolk; rather expensive for me but fabulous magazine, Kettle; one of the most essential kitchen gadgets, and Koma; my precious loved cat.

J for Jean
![]() |
J for Jeans; taken w/ iPhone 5c
I wish they would sell those jeans again:)
Why do I love jeans? The candid, rugged texture is what I just cannot be fascinated. I really can feel at ease with jeans.
And Jean is one of my muses, inspiration. She had grace, charm, calmness. I even visited her grave in Paris. I bet many girls wanna be like her, try her hairdo. I made mistakes of getting my hair short several times but I still sometimes have an impulse having my hair cut like hers.

M for Mother
This Japanese mortar is over 40 years old, I guess. This was in my house, I remember seeing it being used by my mother ever since I can remember. It is one of the essential kitchen tools in my home. I brought it here in Cebu when I went back home this April. I bought a little marble mortar & pestle at a market in Cebu, but for me the pair is not easy to use. I have been too familiar with my mother's old Japanese mortar (and I am Japanese) so I decided to get it from my home. It's like a kind of keepsake, guardian of my kitchen. It has a chip in the edge but looking at it I feel secured.
Today is Mother's day. I wear the watch, a memento of my mother, which suddenly stopped a week ago and I stopped wearing then for my working hours. Just resting, hearing sound of falling rain (Yes, it's been a long while since we had rain here! Blessing rain!). Suffering from aching gum and palate and headache, thinking of my mother's pain from her disease which she suffered from 30 more years. Remembering her last days.

souvenir from Japan; taken w/iPhone 5c
The beautiful & nostalgic package of this souvenir looks lovely, but most of all, what made me happy and grateful is the consideration people show in such a way. I have found and experienced warmth, caring and concern in these 10 months since I left Japan. And support from people around and far makes my everyday life comfy and happy:))

朝

taken w/iPhone 5c

I love native organic eggs:) taken w/ iPhone 5c
Sorry, this is one of rumbling posts about food.
I have been craving for fresh milk, tofu, cheese, yogurt, and eggs. Of course I can find some of them in supermarkets here, but all of them have somehow a very long life, which is what I just cannot trust. I suspect such foods definitely have poisonous things to our body. But I have no choice, so I buy "fresh" milk (on the carton it says) and about eggs and cheese, I buy at the organic market I visit on Saturdays once or twice a month. Unfortunately I don't see yogurt containing no sweetener, so I haven't eaten any since I came to live here in Cebu. Instead, I make something like ricotta cheese with "fresh" milk and enjoy eating it with salt & olive oil, or fruit jam, and sometimes like in the photo above, with cake salé, pancake, or bread.
About eggs, I love eating "tamago-kake gohan", hot, just-cooked rice topped and then mixed with raw egg and a bit of soy sauce, and tried it just once with an organic egg here; it was soooo goooood. But accepting warnings about salmonella, and rice I buy here is different from what I ate in Japan, I haven't eaten I eat eggs cooked these days. Soft-boiled eggs, sunny-side ups, and scrambled eggs. I guess you love eggs too:) They look lovely and taste good.

taken with Olympus ep-1, in January 2011
Is winter thawing in your place?
Here in Japan, it is 'Daikan', which word is used in an old calendar, meaning the coldest time in the year.

Yay! Kuching is going to be adopted by someone I have known very well. He has been getting better and better, cuter and cuter. He is now way too active and affective & adorable. I'm sure he'll be loved soooo deeply for good. Thank you for your support, friends!

Kuching the kitten, looking for a warm family!
I'll attend you till you are 100% fine and I find a best family for you.
