I can hear various colorful sounds of insects these days. Yes, summer is almost over and their singing season has come. And it's also the season we can enjoy figs and pears (as seen in the photo, they are different from some of "your" pears, I guess).  I love crispy texture and juicy sweet flavor of pears. I was watching a TV program last night and "pear pizza" was introduced in it. Hmm, I wanna try it. 

うちに帰ってきて気づいた。虫の声がこんなにいろいろ。鈴虫らしい声もするし、その他何種類かいるみたい。職場では（鳴く虫は）コオロギオンリー。室内にいっぱいいる。見るたび一瞬ぎょっとする。わざとか？ってくらい人の歩く前をぴょんぴょん逃げるので踏んづけそうになる。ちゃっちゃとつかまえて外に出すけど、出しても出しても、またどこかからコロコロリーが聞こえる。

月がまぶしい〜！ほぼまんまる。梨みたいに。昨日のテレビで見た梨ピザ、食べたいなー。ハラヘッター。

scent for a gloomy day

朝から雨やら雷やらでじめじめ鬱陶しくて、足もないから家にいるしかなくて、こんな日はサンダルウッドに限る。

It's been raining, sometimes pouring and thundering, during the morning and day for these two days. I just feel gloomy and seeked for relief for the scent of sandalwood.

I walked around Montmartre in the morning; it was around 8 but still dark in Paris. I wondered at random, heading for La Basilique du Sacré-Cœur. On the long stairs where I could see the top of the basilica I stopped and involuntarily looked up to the houses along the stairs. There she is! She was staring at me leisurely. That window rail must be her favorite place; it has a really good view of the town. And it was a good view for me: a cat on a window rail.

早朝、とはいえもう８時だったけれど、パリはまだ暗かった。着いた日は18区のボロホテル（失礼！）に泊まったので、朝起きたらモンマルトルをぶらぶら歩いてみた。坂を上ればサクレ・クール寺院の方へ行けるだろう，と思ったら、やっぱり。長い階段が目の前に現れて、寺院の丸い先端が見えた。途中で息が切れて立ち止まり、横にずらり並ぶ家をなんとなく眺めた。顔を上げた先に、あ！いる！！余裕と好奇心の混じった顔でこっちを見てる。あの窓辺からの眺めは素敵だろうな。猫さんが居心地よさげなこの光景に出会えて私は幸せだった。

au coin de la rue ~ Paris #2 (random post)

I took this photo with an ILFORD Advocate, that lovely ivory-colored classic camera! It's made in U.K. but I couldn't help taking it to Paris. I thought the camera would really suit Paris;) But toward the end of the travel, I noticed there was something wrong with the shutter. I didn't feel it was working right sometimes. And that feel was assured when the films were developed. Some of the photos didn't come out right (as I mentioned before). Several precious moments were lost, which is really a shame. But I still love the camera, and the lost scenes live in my memory.

I had been admiring and somehow felt nostalgic, as if I had known it long time before, the site in this pic. So I often stood just still at the places with stairs like these in this pic without taking photos. Nothing special happened but I had one of the loveliest time there.

見た目的には一番気に入っているあの白いカメラ、イギリス生まれだけど、絶対パリだ！と重いのを承知で持って行きました。結果は前にも触れたように、シャッターがどこかおかしいのか、撮れてないコマ多数。もう戻ってこない瞬間も写真には残りませんでした。まあそんなもんか。戻ってこない瞬間はただ過ぎ去るのみ。写真に焼き付けることなんて本当はできないのかも。ということで、ちょっと悔しいけれど、あのカメラはやっぱり大好きで、そういう瞬間も記憶にちゃんと残っているから、いい。

こどものころからなぜかしら憧れ、しかも懐かしく思い続けていたこういう階段のある景色。わあ、ホンマにここにいる、と
ただ立ち尽くして写真も撮らなかったり。特別なことは何もなかったけれど、もっとも愛おしい時間のひとつ。
